Boreas Tunnelling is recruiting a Large Diameter Tunnel Specialist (LDTS)

For an esteemed client operating in Singapore, we are looking for a Large Diameter Tunnel Specialist (LDTS), that has a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in the design and supervision of tunneling works, of which at least five (5) years of experience in the supervision of tunneling works of similar complexity using SLURRY TBM of more than 10 meters in diameter (large diameter TBM).

The LDTS are assumed to be on the TBM / site 24/7, gathering reports following the drive and liaising with the Consultant to create requested reports and attend meetings.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Carry out a review of design and method statements, on-site inspection, audits, and investigation and submit findings of safety incidents

  • Liaise and coordinate with the Authority's Consultant, Contractor(s), Interfacing Contractors, Instrumentation and Monitoring (IM) contractor(s), QP(D) and AC

  • Attend meetings, and discussions, give presentations/briefings to the Authorities and agencies to obtain approval to commence works

  • Provide a specialist review of method statements, daily reports, records of installation, instrumentation reports, the performance of all plants and equipment, and any other associated submissions

  • Review the design and fabrication reports of the large-diameter TBM and ancillary plants

  • Attend and provide the specialist review on TBM, Plant setup, and site acceptance test (SAT)

  • Review tunneling parameters and instrumentation results throughout the period of tunnelling and to provide comments and recommendations where required

  • Attend technical, safety and site meetings that require advice and decision in relation to large-diameter tunnelling works

  • Attend meetings to resolve coordination, technical, cost and other work-related issues

  • Provide monthly and final wrap-up review of TBM performance in relation to design, tunnelling operation parameters, including modifications made to TBM & ancillary plant, processes , troubleshooting, comments & recommendations

  • Submission of reports

The ideal candidate has - holds - is - able to:

  1. Available at short notice due to urgent start;

  2. communicate more than sufficiently in English;

  3. long-term commitment ;
